District 318 4th grade students created tree house installations that act as mini art galleries. Each student created four tiles, using trees as inspiration. The students utilized leaves to explore composition on the front of three tiles and focused on tree bark to explore texture and rhythm on the back. The forth tile (hung from the roof) is based on tree rings that form over the life of a tree. Students also created sketch models of tree houses to investigate design concepts. Throughout the process, students focused on the idea that artists can help people see the world in new ways.
