The pop-up park was created in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on a parking lot adjacent to the MacRostie Art Center. The pop-up park consisted of 20 moveable panels that could serve as mobile outdoor canvases for public art. Local artists were able to use the space as a testing ground for lightweight, flexible, and reconfigurable public art. Panels consisted of chain link fencing sandwiched between wood framing. The metal fencing was then used as a structure on which to hang art or infill with designs and color. The moveable panels acted as walls that could be arranged in different ways to define the space for various events.
